Momotaro Auction - May 27th 2009
Koibito Japan will be attending the Momotaro Auction on May 27th. There are 60 top class Jumbo Tosai up for sale...if the auction is anything like last year, there will be plenty of interest!!!
The 60 Koi for sale in this auction will be kept at Momotaro Koi Farm over the summer in 2009 to grow on to Nisai free of charge, you pay ZERO yen for keeping. This Autumn Momotaro Koi Farm will hold it's 2nd Annual Koi Show, with the 60 koi sold in the Auction on May 27th being the only entries.
Prizes at this show will be Bizen Yaki, (a very sought after kind of Japanese Pottery from a town near Okayama City called Bizen). The maker of the pottery is called in Japanese, Ningenkokuho - which literally translated means 'Living National Treasure'. Isezaki San, the maker of the pottery enjoys a strong relationship with Momotaro Koi Farm's owner, Michio Maeda, who himself has a deep interest in Bizen Yaki.
The first prize Bizen Yaki for the overall champion is a piece of Bizen Yaki, made by Isezaki San himself, and worth in the region of 2,000,000 yen!!! All the other prizes are all made by the Isezaki Family!!!
