Momotaro Auction - November 11th 2008 - Photos
The Nov 11th Momotaro auction was held today...many people attended, and we took some pictures for you all to see...
The auction started in the morning with Nisai up first. This time round the system for the auction had changed a little. Fish were not wheeled in indiviually, but where instead isplayed in a large pool, this system seemed to work really well, and it also prevented the very active Nisai koi from jumping out of the bowls!!! The most expensive Nisai koi was sold for 3.1 million yen...everyone was very excited after the bidding for that fish was over...especially the buyer!!! ;-)
The Tosai auction was expanded to include several pieces of Sanke, and also over one hundered Showa which were not included on the information on the website...the most expensive Tosai to go under the hammer ended up costing 390,000 yen. On the whole though average prices for Tosai were around 40,000 - 50,000 yen...
The auction ended around 5.30 pm, so it was a very long day for all who were there. As with all auctions, there were winner and loses, but overall, I can safely say that a good day was had by all!!!
Enjoy the photos...
