Marukyu
After having 99% of his stock destroyed after the earthquake in 2004, Marukyu decided to focus on breeding small numbers of high quality Go-Sanke, ensuring good growth even in the limited growing season Niigata is known for. He now produces very limited numbers of Tosai each year which are not on general sale, and sells koi mainly at Nisai. He breeds his Kohaku from parent koi of the Murata Sensuke bloodline, selling most of his fish to the Japanese high quality koi market.
